Just a little update on our Art at Work opening weekend activities. We had a record number of people come to 253 Collective gallery and browse our artworks. On Saturday Marily set up and demonstrated glass etching for everyone. We had practice pieces of glass available for anyone wishing to try their hand at etching. It was a great hit with the visitors.
We will be continuing our demonstrations throughout the Art at Work month. Our next demonstration will be embroidery. Watch the schedule for the time and date.
Join us for Tacoma’s Third Thursday Art Mingle on November 21 and watch glass etching starting at 6:30pm and participate with a practice piece. Glass pieces available free while supplies last or bring your own glass cup or vase.

253 Artists Demo During Art At Work Month
Aside Posted on Updated on

During the month of November (Art At Work month) come see on-going art demonstrations at 253 Collective Coop Gallery. Featured Artists Marily and Butch Renick, owners of Earth Signs Glass Etching started their business because of their longtime love of specialty glass pieces, particularly from the depression era. fascinated for years by the absolute beauty of the crop circle designs, Butch decided to transfer some of these beautiful designs to glass pieces especially selected to show off the crop art. Butch will demonstrate embroidery techniques as he transfers some of the crop designs and other interesting designs to embroidered works. Come meet Butch and Marily and visit other 253 artists as they celebrate Art At Work month.
