Posted on Updated on

The 253 Collective Gallery is located at 1901 S. Jefferson St., Suite 100, Tacoma WA 98402 (Directions)

Opening Reception featuring art by Terese Cuff Thursday, September 20th, 3 – 8 p.m. Come down and check out the work of one of the newest members of the 253 Collective. An East Coast transplant, Terese moved to Tacoma about 15 years ago. She studied painting and printmaking at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the Vermont Studio School. Her work is academic with a desire to be more minimal and succinct. Cuff’s process involves trying to bring some kind of order to colliding/converging ideas and impulses with paint and she has been teaching visual arts and media arts in the Tacoma Public School for 12 years. Over her career as a painter she has done illustrations, portraits, murals and has displayed work in galleries. Recently, she’s been exploring the digital world, creating animations with paintings as the source material and creating short movies. In 2007 Terese received the Tacoma Artists Initiative Program Award.
