Jen Moore, Artist
I can’t deny it; I love charcoal. Sure, I tried to be more practical. I earned my BFA in Interior Architecture and Design from Maryland Institute, College of Art. I was a model builder, a design consultant, a sign maker and for nearly 20 years, a graphic designer. Then, in 2010, I dusted off my drawing supplies and did a quick sketch of my daughter just to see if I could. The result was a gentle and delicate face… but it looked nothing like my daughter. However, it rekindled my passion for messy fingers and black dust in the air.
Now that I live in the Pacific Northwest, I find inspiration everywhere (avoiding portraiture) and have seized the opportunity to launch my fine arts career. I am an exhibiting member of the 253 Collective Art Gallery in Tacoma where I display and sell my drawings as well as jewelry and beaded tree creations.
