Jennifer Moore, Charcoal Artist and more

Jennifer Moore is the owner of Artco Framing & Gallery at 5401 6th Ave. Ste. 321 in Tacoma and is the Vice President of the Anxious Tomato Collective. She will continue to work hard to connect Tacoma artists to art enthusiasts and help elevate the Tacoma Art Scene.

Artist’s Statement: I can’t deny it; I love charcoal. Sure, I tried to be more practical. I earned my BFA in Interior Architecture and Design from Maryland Institute, College of Art. I was a model builder, a design consultant, a sign maker and for 20 years, a graphic designer. Then, in 2010, I dusted off my drawing supplies and did a quick sketch of my daughter just to see if I could. The result was a gentle and delicate face… which looked nothing like my daughter. However, it rekindled my passion for messy fingers and black dust in the air.

Now that I live in the Pacific Northwest, I find inspiration everywhere and have seized the opportunity to launch my fine arts career. I am an exhibiting member of the 253  Collective Art Gallery in Tacoma where I display and sell my drawings as well as jewelry and beaded tree creations.
