Suzan Carrell is this month’s Featured Artist at 253 Collective in Tacoma. A self-taught bead artist, Suzan studied at UW in costume design and was a seamstress in many productions there, including Hamlet and The Tempest, two of her favorites. This background set the foundation for her future jewelry design.
Having raised her family here in the Pacific Northwest – 3 kids, 7 grandkids, and 24 years of marriage this month! – Suzan is now happy to be an “empty nester” and concentrating on her beadwork. You can see evidence of her watercolor and graphic design training, in many of her pieces. She emphasizes, “Jewelry is joyful, and mine is right up there in your face.”
Come meet Suzan and view her bold and colorful jewelry at 253 Collective, Thurs., Oct. 15, 4 – 8 pm.
Light snacks will be served.
Starts Oct. 15 – Runs through Nov. 17.
Additionally, 253 Collective will be open extended hours during
Studio Tour – 11 am – 5 pm, Saturday & Sunday, Oct. 17 & 18.
