Whether she’s painting a portrait, abstract or still life, artist Dionne Bonner says, "Capturing the essence of the subject matter is the most important thing to me." She begins each painting as an adventure and uses a time-honored technique of under painting, adding color and light with multiple layers of paint. To achieve this layering effect Dionne uses washes and blends of color, building each painting from the ground up which develops the subject matter in stages. This technique helps her create luminous paintings with depth and character. Dionne’s work has been exhibited in group and solo shows throughout the state of Washington and abroad.

A Seattle Art Institute graduate, Dionne also works as a professional Graphic Designer specializing in print and online media. She has ten years experience in the field of Graphic Design. Through her small business Vibrant Creations she offers graphic design, website design and development services, custom paintings, portraits and murals. Her varied abilities in the Visual Arts and Communications field provides for a diverse and vibrant career. Dionne enjoys volunteering her time working with organizations that foster the developement of technology and art education to underrepresented communities.
